Photo a Day #7 - Something I Wore

Something I Wore

My Juilliard t-shirt. My mom bought this for me, maybe 15 years ago, while she was on a business trip in New York City. I almost never wore it out and about, back when I was in high school, because my frame was so small that I might as well have been swimming in it - and boy oh boy were big t-shirts NOT trendy.

Today - I've definitely filled out a bit, and I love wearing this shirt to teach. I especially love it when people assume that I went to Juilliard. MWAHAHAHA.

love it! lol a little extra authority sometimes helps!

back in the day i made 2 shirts for my oboe playing daughter to wear in hs. 1 said "my mom thinks i'm cool." the 2nd, had the signature of a fermata the little "bird's eye" symbol for extending the count of a note. The symbol was on the front and on the back "I'm a fermata. Hold me."

I was surprised that she actually wore them. The "cool" shirt so much so that when she attended the senior awards the principle actually introduced one of her awards as "This next scholarship goes to the girl who needs no introduction, we all know HER MOM THINKS SHE'S COOOOOOOL!" The whole place burst out laughing and clapping.

It was a great "mom moment". I'm sure every time your mom watches you dance or sees your students she has one of those great mom moments too!
