Maudslay State Park

This past weekend, Matt and I escaped the city for a few hours and had ourselves a little adventure at Maudslay State Park.

**CHRISTMAS SPOILER - CATHY NO PEEKING!**

Catherine and Caleb

Since I made a pair of socks for one sister-in-law, I felt it only proper that I should follow suit for my other sister-in-law!

Toes!

Pattern: Dublin Bay Socks by Ryan Morrissey
Needles: US 1 - 2.25mm
Yarns: KnitPicks Essential Tweed in Marina (discontinued), Ball and Skein Tashi in Prairie and Red Heart Heart&Sole in Spring Stripe 3960.

Again...I just love this pattern!

Dublin Bay Socks

I have been having a really great time working within my "stash" for these socks, (and every other gift that I have completed for Christmas 2010). My dwindling stash of sock yarn, forced me to make some unconventional color choices with each of the Dublin Bay socks, but I am quite pleased with the results! It is so satisfying to use up what I already have.

P.S. Only 102 days until Christmas! What's going on in your workshop?

In Memory

I have been obsessed with StoryCorps lately. There are stories of all types; happy, sad, funny, but last night I listened to one particular story, that I thought would be appropriate to share here today:

John Vigiano and his wife Jan

I remember every moment of that awful day as if it happened yesterday. I probably will never forget, which I suppose is the most humble memorial that I am able to offer. Hug your loved ones extra tight today.

Well, I'm on a roll!

Last night's crafting session yielded two more Christmas prezzies done and done!

Two more nature cans for two more nephews!

**CHRISTMAS SPOILER - HOA NO PEEKING!**

DSC_1174

Last summer, on a rainy day, I taught my sister-in-law, Hoa, how to knit. She kept at it, a little bit each day, until she had the beginnings of a scarf.

Hoa has always been fascinated with my knitting, especially projects done on small needles. I think the scientist in her likes to analyze how two tiny sticks and some string combine to make a garment! When formulating my to-do list for Christmas this year, I knew exactly what to make for Hoa. Something bright and beautiful, delicate yet warm.

Dublin Bay Socks :: Side Detail

Pattern: Dublin Bay Socks by Ryan Morrissey
Needles: US 1 - 2.25mm
Yarns: Cherry Tree Hill Supersock Merino in Wild Cherry and Ball and Skein Tashi in Gourd

Dublin Bay Socks :: Pretty Heels!

This is such a wonderful pattern to make socks as gifts. It is simple enough, that it knits up quickly, yet the lace panel exudes just the right amount of fancy!

Hopefully, she likes them!
