Hello, all! This is my Year of Outfits picture from yesterday. I'm a fan - I like the light in the picture. This is me after one of the most satisfying dinners I've cooked in a long time. My recipes have been very fast to whip together as of late, and sometimes I just want to cook something that takes time, and take the time to savor it. Yesterday was one of those days. All local yumminess as well. I cooked porkchops from Kellie Brook Farm in some leftover rice wine, garlic and a handful of herbes de provence, and with it we ate delicious roasted and caramelized turnips and shallots from the farmers market. I used this recipe via Martha Stewart Living. Let me tell you...the sauce that it asks you to whip up...I was afraid. I thought that it would ruin perfectly good roasted turnips and shallots. The red wine vinegar smell is POTENT! However, I was so wrong. The sauce coated the veggies with a super yummy sweet tangy flavor. Mmmm, mmmm good. And all gone.
We finished off the evening with cowgirl cookies from Beach Pea Bakery. Good thing that I bought two half dozen bags - because these two cookies were the only thing left this morning. And no Hobbes the cat did not get to eat them. Mmmmm it's good to be a chubby girl! (I keep telling myself this - apparently it is working). Some non food related things - Second Annual Holiday Ornament Swap hosted by Cake and Pie and Freshly Blended is here. You have until tomorrow, Friday, midnight Eastern Standard Time to sign up. I did this last year and it was a blast. I received ornaments from all over the world. Both my mom and I are participating this year. Fun, fun, fun.

That's a gorgeous scarf, Sarah!
And the meal sounds delish. I wish I had a nice meal here right now. There's nothing good in the fridge, well, nothing that I can eat right now, it all requires being fixed up!
